PCAOB now Accepting Registrations
August 7, 2003 - The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that its online registration features were functional and they would begin to accept registrations from accounting firms. The deadline for registration is October 22, 2003, and the Board has 45 days to review registrations, thus an registration must be submitted before September 7, 2003 in order for an accounting firm to satisfy the registration requirements.

SEC website for Section 16 filings of Forms 3, 4 and 5
The SEC has established a new internet website (https://www.onlineforms.edgarfiling.sec.gov) exclusively for the on-line creation and submission of Securities Exchange Act of 1934 Section 16(a) ownership reports (Forms 3, 4, and 5). The SEC has designed the website to make it easier for individuals to satisfy the electronic filing obligations that will apply to them when electronic submission of these Forms is mandated on June 30, 2003.

SEC Approves PCAOB Board Organization - October 25, 2003 is CPA Registration Deadline
Washington, D.C., April 25, 2002 - Today the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced that the PCAOB has been determined to be appropriately organized and has the capacity to carry out the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. A practical result of this determination is that the Board can proceed to register public accounting firms and 180 days from this date becomes the deadline for public accounting firms to register with the Board

SEC announces US PCAOB Chair
Washington, D.C., April 15, 2003 — The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has unanimously selected William J. McDonough as its nominee to be the new Chairperson of the five-member Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) established pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Mr. McDonough is currently the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a post he has held since 1993. In that capacity, he serves as the vice chairman and a permanent member of the Federal Open Market Committee. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Mr. McDonough had spent 22 years at First Chicago Corp. and its bank, First National Bank of Chicago. The Commission made this selection after consultation with the Federal Reserve Chairman and the Secretary of the Treasury.
This appointment is subject to subsequent formal SEC action
